Product Review: Omega-3 with CoQ10

Omega-3 with CoQ10 image

Formula

Thorne combines EPA + DHA from fish oil with coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) in a single gelcap formula. The idea is to fuse heart and vascular support (from omega-3s) with antioxidant and mitochondrial support (from CoQ10). The product claims to support cardiovascular health, healthy blood flow, and cognitive function. That said, the exact amounts (especially of CoQ10) are modest compared to standalone CoQ10 supplements, and the EPA/DHA dose is not exceptionally high.

Effect

Users often take it hoping for synergistic benefits: improved cardiovascular health (lower oxidative stress, better endothelial function), plus mild energy and cell function support via CoQ10. Some report noticing better stamina or less fatigue over time, though such effects tend to be subtle. Because the doses are not extremely high, those with more demanding health goals such as aggressively lowering lipids may find this combination insufficient alone.

Use

The recommended serving is 1 gelcap two to three times daily, or as directed by your health-care practitioner. This means most people will need at least two capsules per day, which can reduce the convenience compared to once-a-day omega-3 supplements and make the bottle run out faster.

Flavor

Because it’s a purified fish oil product, the aftertaste is minimal. Many users note a generally positive experience, with the supplements being virtually odorless and rarely causing the “fish burps” associated with cheaper supplements. However, since there’s no flavor-masking essence like lemon or citrus, some may still notice a faint aftertaste.

Price

This supplement is positioned as a higher cost option, most likely due to the inclusion of both omega-3s and CoQ10. While it may provide value for those who prefer an all-in-one formula, the modest dosages mean that the cost per serving isn’t as competitive as other omega-3 products on the market. Frequent use also shortens the lifespan of each bottle, further impacting value.
